The American Psychological Association estimates that forty-three percent of adults suffer adverse health effects from stress, and stress has been linked to the six leading causes of death: heart disease, cancer, lung ailments, accidents, cirrhosis of the liver, and suicide. Other symptoms of stress include obesity, cigarette and drug addiction, and an increase in child abuse and divorce rates.

These are grim facts. And perhaps you've experienced some of these symptoms in your own life. Or maybe you're heading down that path of unending stress and feel hopeless to stop it.
